I walked into a small, independent book store today, with wooden bookshelves and creaky floor boards, the kind of place that invites forgetting time and getting lost in the magic of words. As I skimmed the carefully curated collection, my eyes fell upon “Let Them Eat Chaos” by Kate Tempest. Never heard of her, but I picked it up and the lyrical tone immediately appealed. I purchased it, went home, warmed some soup, sat in my garden in the sun and devoured both the book and my lunch; and it was so vivid, poignant and true, I almost cried.
